Logicbase Interactive Outreach Program 2016 | Sharing Happiness and Joy to Kids during Sir Bryan’s Birthday

April 24 is a very important date for Logicbase Interactive Family as this marks the birthday of our Big Boss, the LBI CEO, Sir Bryan King. While others celebrate their special day with special people closest to their hearts, LBI celebrate it in their own unique way. This is through sharing their happiness and blessings to kids who need it the most, the Logicbase Interactive Outreach Program 2016.

LBI’s chosen venue for the outreach activity is the DSWD – Reception and Study Center for Children, Masterson Ave., Cagayan de Oro City. With 30+ kids who attended the event, surely everyone was happy and excited seeing the party we prepared for them.

Our teammates, Nikki and Francis led the program while entertaining the kids with their tremendous emcee skills. They oriented the children to greet Sir Bryan a loud and clear “Happy Birthday” Greeting upon entering the room with a birthday song thereafter.

More and more kids joined the fun afterwards.

The program proper started with an opening prayer led by Jan followed by a meet-and-greet session. Each of us stated our name to kids while making sure the kids remembered us throughout the program.

After the meet and greet part is the celebrant’s speech. Sir Bryan showed his overflowing happiness upon seeing those kids in front of him celebrating his birthday with him. He talked about how blessed he is and that he wanted to share those blessings and become an inspiration to others. Ms. Yani also delivered her speech afterwards.

The games finally started. Every time Nikki and Francis ask the kids if they want to join, they immediately volunteered even the title wasn’t yet announced. It only shows that the kids really wanted to have fun and enjoy the party.

The first game was entitled “Hep Hep Hooray”. The objective of this game is to repeat to words “Hep Hep” and “Hooray”. The player is supposed to clap his hand together below their waist while shouting “Hep Hep” and raise his hand in the air while shouting “hooray” but Nikki and Francis made it simplier for the kids. Rather than clapping their hands together or raising their hands on the air, the kids just need to shout “Hep Hep” or “Hooray” if the microphone reaches them.

Mylene, Irish and Mitsumi won the “Hep Hep Hooray” Game.

The second game was “Trip to Jerusalem”. This popular game is played through placing number of chairs, fewer than the number of kids, arranged facing outward with the players standing in circle just outside the chairs. A music is then played while the kids need to dance and walk around the chairs. When the music stops each players need to sit down on one of the chairs.

The third game was entitled “The boat is sinking”. The objective of the game is to group the kids according to what Nikki and Francis are asking.

Joahana, Alysa, Lalay and Mimi won the “Boat is Sinking” Game.

After the three games was the most awaited part of the program. LUNCH! While our team prepared and serve the food, the kids patiently waited while others are still enjoying the lovely atmosphere, the balloons, the candies, and the prizes they received.

The foods were ready and our team started to distribute it to the kids. Everyone participated in serving and distributing the foods. I can clearly tell the happiness and contentment each of us felt seeing the kids happily enjoying the foods we shared to them.

The kids thought the party was over after lunch but not yet. The fourth and final game then started, and it’s entitled “Guess the Object” Game.

Random items are being put inside a bag and the kids needed to guess it while touching the items. The one who guessed the item correctly then receives coloring and story books.

Before we bid our goodbyes to the kids, we never missed the chance to take a group picture with them. Happiness and joy filled our hearts as we leave the place and travel back home.

“I haven’t participated such party-for-a-cause events like what we had last Saturday. It was admirable of Sir Bry to celebrate his birthday together with such cute and adorable kids. And with that, I realized that those kids only experience such celebrations whenever there are also groups who also thought of doing outreach programs to their place. “Unconditional love does not require any condition. Those who are actuated to help are motivated by love that does not require any return. The outreach yesterday just shows how to share genuinely, sharing to those who are most incapable of giving back and the most innocent of recipients.

Whenever I witness such natural discharge of assets to others, the parable in Luke 14 of the Holy Bible comes into my mind, where the people are encouraged to help out of love and not of public approval. “The insights we’ve gained during the outreach program we’ve conducted last Sunday, April 24, 2016 are the following:

– Honestly, to handle kids with age ranges of 6 years old and below is never easy, undeniably challenging, but because we’ve seen their genuine smile when we mingled with them, we were able to embrace the so-called ‘challenge’ and successfully help to spread happiness and fun into their little hearts.

– We must be thankful of what we have every day because we are blessed enough to live a life surrounded with our loving family.

– We’ve realized that to make others happy doesn’t really require expensive and gigantic gifts to share, somehow, through sharing your simple genuine smile, warm hugs, making them feel that you care, striking a conversation of knowing them are enough to touch their hearts and can make a huge difference to their lives, especially when you are dealing with kids.” – Francis Derequito and Nicole Von Javier

 

“It’s fulfilling to help others. We need to realize that not everyone gets parental love like those children. Since we have experienced that kind of love, we know what it is like and we should share that to those people who have not experienced it.
