LBI in Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Celebrating the Successes of the Company Despite The COVID-19 Pandemic

Logicbase Interactive Ugly Sweater Christmas Party 2020

The Logicbase Interactive’s theme for the annual company year-end gathering is a relevant and timely encapsulation about what we’ve been through the whole year.

Directly quoting Ms. Yani Briones-King,

“It has been an ugly year but we choose to celebrate it with these jolly, colorful outfits because there are still many reasons to celebrate it like we consistently have our jobs and our clientele progressed as well this year. So to simply put it, it’s only our sweater that’s ugly. The Christmas spirit remains intact and jolly, and lest not forget the reason for the season. Christmas is Christmas, no matter what.”

Admit it, 2020 has been the worst year yet. It’s been a roller coaster ride for nearly everyone, with many businesses greatly affected by the effects of COVID-19. Only certain businesses have thrived in the wake of the pandemic, like industries that don’t require physical interpersonal services.

LogicBase Interactive, as an IT company, belongs to such an industry.

The company spent its “Ugly Sweater Holiday Dinner” at Sentro 1850, Divisoria last December 5, 2020. With a yearly tradition to have a different and unique theme each year, everyone was wearing their best ugly Christmas sweaters, with everyone restricted from being too close to each other in compliance with the city’s health and safety protocols against the threat of COVID-19. Despite the social distancing in place, smiles and sweet glances were enough to make us feel like we’re hugging and cheering each other.

As the event started, the host warmly greeted everyone as he introduced the newly-hired employees of LBI – Norman Amaro, Killian Falle, Pete Taruc, Stevenwill Sabana, and Ruben Bolos, a mix of fresh faces and old friends.

The annual departmental reports were presented thereafter, from the CRU, Research and Development, ACADEO, Moneycache, to Digital Marketing. This is one way of recognizing and celebrating the efforts and hardwork of LBI employees, and their successes in their fields.

2020 Employee of the Quarter Award

One of the highlights of the event is rewarding the big achievers of the year. Awards for Employee of the Quarter were awarded to John Vincent Amba (Dec 2019 – Feb 2020), John Emmanuel Balili (Mar 2020 – May 2020), and Janine Tapere (Jun 2020 – Aug 2020). Team of the Year was awarded to Team CRU.

5 employees were given recognition for providing services to the company for 3 years, namely Renbert Jay Jayson, Michael Bryan Reyes, Junneil Lomocso, Joan Gambuta, and Luis Belan.

3 Years of Service Award

After grace was said for the night’s dinner, meals were served buffet style.

Other special awards were also announced, like Office Prankster, Human Wikipedia, Punny Award, The Fashionista Award, The MacGyver Award, The Biggest Germaphobe Award, and more.

Of course, the holiday party wouldn’t be complete without the exchanging of gifts. Each gifter was given their turn on the mic to describe the presents they have prepared for the giftee.

To end the evening on a high note, Mr. Bryan Joseph King gave an inspiring speech for his closing remarks, mentioning the challenges that the company had faced in 2020 and thanking everyone’s contributions to the company. Mr. King also enumerated the company’s plans for the year 2021, and announced exciting news for the company at large.

Before the event officially ended, the company distributed groceries for everyone to enjoy.

No matter how ugly the year has become, we must learn to count the successes that we have achieved for the whole year. It is what defines LogicBase Interactive. Look forward to a  brighter year ahead!
